If you prefer your ghosts on the cozy side, rather than the horror side, I’m right there with you. Especially when they come along with fiber creatives, vintage fashionistas, female-run construction projects, and bookshops!

The Haunted Yarn Shop Mysteries by Molly MacRae
This series is set in fictional Blue Plum, Tennessee and features Kath Rutledge and her fibre and fabric shop, The Weaver’s Cat. The shop is haunted by the adorable, moody and opinionated ghost named Geneva. Kath gets help solving the mysteries from Geneva, along with the group of crafters belonging to the Thank Goodness It’s Fiber group that meet at the shop. Every time I read an installment of this series, I wished I could visit Blue Plum.

A Haunted Vintage Mystery Series by Rose Pressey
This series features Cookie Chanel who owns a vintage clothing boutique, It’s Vintage Y’All, in Sugar Creek, Georgia. While out acquiring vintage goods for her shop, visiting estate sales, and providing vintage clothing for photo shoots, Cookie runs into her fair share of murders to solve and ghosts. She gets help from her psyhic cat, Wing Song. But what is important, of course, is that she looks great while doing it, and she’s kind enough to pass on her fashion tips.

Haunted Home Renovation Mysteries by Juliet Blackwell
Melanie Turner runs her father’s construction company that specializes in remodeling historic San Francisco Bay homes. Unfortunately for her, but not for us, she finds these homes requiring her other speciality – ridding buildings of ghosts. Juliet Blackwell brings her own background in art, aesthetic renovation of historic homes and her obvious love of Bay Area history into her books which bring a depth to her stories. She also writes the Witchcraft Mystery series, but we’re here to talk about ghosts 🙂

Haunted Bookshop Mysteries by Cleo Coyle, writing as Alice Kimberly)
Penelope Thornton-McClure manages a Rhode Island bookshop which is haunted by the ghost of a PI, Jack Shepard, who was murdered more than fifty years ago. Cleo Coyle brings their love of pop culture from Jack’s time period into the stories while Penelope solves mysteries with Jack’s help. I’ve read the first two in this series so far and enjoyed both.
