Book description from GoodReads:
Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura are finally living out their dream as the proud owners of the Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery. But their first big client is a nightmare. She’s a bridezilla who wants 500 custom cupcakes for her wedding.
When Mel stumbles upon the bride-to-be dead-by-cupcake, she becomes the prime suspect. To save themselves and their business, the ladies need to find the real murderer, before the cupcake killer ices someone else.
My review – 4/5 Stars (originally posted on GoodReads on 12/13/16)
I am a fan of Jenn McKinlay and this first book in her cupcake bakery mystery series is no exception.
Melanie and Angie own a cupcake shop (and their long time friend Tate is an investor). The three of them have what sounds like a wonderful friendship. I liked them all and look forward to reading more about their lives. I got a kick out of their rivalry with the other local baker in town (some of the interactions still make me chuckle).
There were a lot of interesting characters in this book. The bridezilla was entertaining (and perfectly annoying) and I was glad I didn’t have to figure out her cupcake request, especially on short notice. Her assistants were amusing.
The mystery kept me guessing for awhile but, more importantly, it had some fun twists.
