Book description from GoodReads:

Now Laura Childs is cracking a whole new case of murder in a brand new series – RECIPES INCLUDED.

Introducing the Cackleberry Club Mysteries…

Suzanne, Toni, and Petra lose their husbands but find independence when they open the Cackleberry Club. Then their cozy cafe becomes the scene of a crime when a lawyer dies with a secret on his lips and egg on his face. What this all has to do with a religious cult and Suzanne’s past could put her own life on the line.

My review – 5/5 Stars (originally posted on GoodReads)

What a fun read! I laughed out loud numerous times. I just adored the ladies who run the Cackleberry Club and many of the other characters, too. I wished many times that I lived down the street so I could go visit regularly. I mean, what’s not to love about a place that is open for breakfast in the morning, then turns into a tea room in the afternoon, with an adjacent book nook and yarn supply to boot? Sounds perfect to me.

The mystery was interesting and it wasn’t until close to the end that I had a good idea who was behind everything. I wanted to pin it on a few other people, simply because I didn’t like them very much (a couple of whom that changed for by the end of the book, however).

I enjoyed all the food/tea talk, but can see where it would have been a bit much if one isn’t into that sort of thing. For me, it hit the spot.

There are a number of recipes in the back. Many of which I look forward to trying out soon.

I am so glad I already own book 2. I look forward to getting into it as soon as my TBR list (for bingo and challenges) allows.
